Another Happy News

Wow, I found out I've won my 17th 'Best of Show' award for my newest art-to-wear ensemble titled,'Walking Down Memory Lane' at Pacific International Quilt Festival 11-14 Oct 2012 in Santa Clara, CA.
This time I felted my old wool jackets, skirts and scarfs and used them as the background, added wool appliques, silk-ribbon hand embroidery, and of course lots of beading.

I've also been in Titusville, FL (the home of Kennedy Space Center) between 28 September and the 30th.  I was invited there by the Titusville chapter of American Sewing Guild to have a workshop. I had a wonderful time,  enjoyed the nice Florida weather and hospitality of the ladies of the chapter. My husband Ken and I could not miss the golden opportunity to tour the historic sites of America's space exploration.  As an Air Force flight surgeon, Ken was extremely excited throughout the tour of the launch pads, control rooms, the famous Saturn V rocket displays etc. ( I wish you saw the BIG smile on his face.) Moreover, it was the first time I saw a real live alligator outside a zoo!

A week later on 6-7 Oct 12, I was the featured artist at "Falling Leaves" Quilt Show in Lakeport, CA hosted by Ladies of Lake Quilter's Guild.  Ken and I want to congratulate the Ladies for the huge success of the show.  As always, the hospitality of the Ladies was just as spectacular as the magnificant Clearlake itself.  Thank you soooo much, Ladies!!!
